Hello dear readers,
I enjoyed sharing my first Links and Loves a few Fridays ago, so I’ll be talking about some more things I’ve been watching or reading recently.
(I hope you like watching video essays, because that’s what a lot of these are! If you couldn’t tell yet, I’m a nerd and I like learning new opinions and ideas.)
YouTube
A whole bunch of Eddy Burback videos! I specifically liked these video essays/commentary:
On the apparent feud between some Gen Z/Zers and some Millennials
On award shows
More Videos (But Only One Link):
The most recent of Ariel Bissett’s house renovation videos. They’re all so very cozy and satisfying! If you like my vibe, you’d probably like Ariel. She has very upbeat, sweet, colorful, and bookish vibes I just love!
Here’s her video on transforming a small area in her home with wallpaper and paint! (I absolutely love how all of her renovation videos are turning out! She also makes lovely bookish videos and has a bookish podcast called Books Unbound!)
Seth Everman playing a duet with his dad
It just rocks 🎸🎸
Also, Seth Everman did this, which is one of my favorite videos of all time
Mina Le covering the hyperfemininity aesthetic (which I hadn’t heard of before, so I learned a lot!)
As usual, it’s a phenomenal video, but her insight towards the back half of the video really stuck with me.
Also, she has a Substack advice column (yay, ‘Stack community!)
Shanspeare covering the myth of the teenage dream
Much like Mina’s videos, Shanspeare’s videos are always so stunning, but the insight she gave in this one in particular struck a lot of chords with me.
New to Me:
Hazariel Costumes making a light-up cape with fiberoptic fabric
Ooooohhhh my goodness, a fantasy high school D&D campaign? Need I say more? I needn’t, but I will: It’s phenomenally funny and absolutely bonkers. The voice acting is also so good; the DM and players happen to be College Humor actors!
There is an instrument called the theremin, which you play without touching!
And, needless to say, I was very excited upon watching the teaser for the new Percy Jackson show!
Non-Video Links
Because I’ve been pretty burned out recently and mostly just watched videos in my spare time, I don’t have too many links that aren’t to videos.
But here’s what else I have to talk about:
Notebook Therapy’s free monthly calendar printable and phone wallpaper.
I’ve been using their calendar printables and phone wallpapers since April or May of this year, and they never disappoint. October’s is a lovely celestial theme I’m really digging! (My favorite was September; it had the cutest little bear and some pretty bows!)
Notebook Therapy is a stationery (and stationery-adjacent) company I really like! They have bullet journals, stickers, washi tape, tote bags, and loads more that are just really adorable. (Also, not at all sponsored; I just like their products a lot and use their freebie printable and wallpaper all the time. I even joined their art contest last month as well, as I briefly mention in my previous letter.)
Realta (one of my favorite webcomics) came back a few months ago, but I just started reading the new version recently.
For those curious, this new version is a revamp of the original, as Webtoon picked the comic up for their “Originals” versus where it originally launched on “Canvas.” Webtoon “Originals” basically support the comic’s creator so the creator can spend more time making the comic the best it can be, usually redrawing from the ground up and adding a team of colorists, editors, etc. to help make the process easier on the author. It also helps make the creator money so it can be more of a job for the creator, so I’m really excited for Realta’s wonderful creator, Rayleearts!
Did anyone find anything super neat this week? Feel free to share in the comments; I love finding new things!
Honestly, half the fun of this newsletter is getting to talk about new things I’ve learned… and what is learning but finding new information?
Have a lovely rest of your day!

I’m learning so many new things reading your letters. I haven’t heard of most of these fun sites. Thank you!
I haven't heard of Notebook Therapy before, must check them out!
This is kind of a different kind of notebook therapy but I wrote about notebook harvesting this week... https://howaboutthis.substack.com/p/creative-realizer-a-notebook-harvest
